Header

The maximum logo size is 300x200. Your uploaded image will be resized to fit within those constraints automatically, but for optimal results you may want to resize it yourself before uploading.

Retina logos are displayed on devices that have a higher than normal pixel density. Using this option will ensure that your logo looks great on all devices (e.g., iPad with retina display).

Retina logos should be uploaded at exactly double the dimensions of your regular logo. So if your regular logo is 140x80 then your retina logo would be 280x160.

Important: If using a retina logo, the Logo height (in pixels) field is required. Enter the height of your regular logo (not retina) in this field.

Home page

Slideshow

Cypress comes equipped with a sophisticated responsive slideshow that can hold up to five slides. There are two slideshow styles, default and alternate. The default layout is new with the most recent update, and looks like this. The alternate (old) style looks like this.* Each slide allows for an image and four text fields, including a title, subtitle, call-to-action, and URL/link. [*Note: the "subtitle" text field is not used in the alternate slideshow layout.]

Unlike other slideshows Cypress allows you to choose the placement of your action text (center, left, and right) on a slide per slide basis. The content of each slide can complement the composition of any image you choose. By default the "next / previous" buttons are translucent black. If this doesn't work well with one of your images simply select the "Invert controls" option. This will provide translucent white buttons for that particular slide.

What are the ideal dimensions for slideshow images?

We recommend using images at a 1280x640 dimension. If you choose to upload different sizes, we recommend that you use a 2:1 ratio and keep each slide's width and height consistent with each other.

Welcome message

A welcome message is a great way to introduce potential customers to your store.

Can I change the font?

The font face for the welcome title is tied to the 'Page title font' which can be found under the General section on the theme settings page.

Please note that all of the stylistic changes to the featured collections are handled under the Collection listing page section of the theme settings page.

Product Pages

Product Image Zoom

Uploading product images with a width of 800px or more will enable the product zoom feature, which allows your customers to zoom into/enlarge the image.

Collection listing page

You may curate the collection listing page by enabled the Use specific link list option. Simply create a new link list populated with all of the collection handles that you wish the user to view when navigating to www.yoursite.com/collections.

Use this feature if you have collections that you don't want to necessarily promote or if you have too many collections and you want to direct users toward specific ones.

Contact Form Page

Need a page that has a contact form? Cypress can do that! On the page edit screen simply scroll down to the bottom of the page and select page.contact from the Template dropdown.

By default the form will be populated with the following fields:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Message

Both the 'Name' and 'Message' field titles are editable via the theme's settings.

If you want to collect more information from your customers you can enable an additional select dropdown field to be included in the form, also via the theme's settings.

Blog

When uploading images to your posts we recommend a minimum of 800px wide. This will ensure that your images always fill the entire width of the post at all resolutions.

404 page

A great way to add value to your 404 page is to enable the Display featured products and Display featured collections options. These options will display products and collections just like they would appear on the home page.

Note: Featured products and collections will not display on the 404 page until the options have been selected in the Home page settings.

Mailing lists

Cypress supports both MailChimp and Campaign Monitor platforms.

Setting up MailChimp

  • login to MailChimp and select 'Lists' from the left sidebar
  • select 'Signup forms' from the row of tabs http://cl.ly/image/0i2O3V1P2N2E
  • select the 'Embedded forms' option
  • scroll to the "Copy/paste onto your site" box and locate the form's action attribute http://cl.ly/image/0m2F103Q2M3C
  • copy and paste the action URL into the appropriate field in your theme's settings
